Preparation and installation: The insulated and reinforced 20-foot container is carefully fitted with a flexitank, securely fastened to resist abrasion and minimize heat loss.
Molten bitumen at a controlled temperature is pumped into the flexitank through the top or bottom valve, and the tank is immediately sealed.
Solidification and transportation: The container door remains open to allow the bitumen to naturally cool and solidify. Once solidified, the container is closed, inspected, and customs sealed, making it ready for international maritime transport.
Discharge at destination: At the destination, the container is placed on an inclined ramp. With the application of heat, the bitumen gradually melts and is discharged through the valve. The flexitank, along with the melted bitumen, leaves no residue or contamination behind and is easy to dispose of.

What is a flexitank?
Flexitank is a flexible, multi-layered, and highly resistant tank designed for transporting non-hazardous and non-corrosive bulk liquids. It is custom-installed inside a standard 20-foot container, transforming it into a temporary and secure tank for storing and transporting hot or viscous liquids such as bitumen, base oils, and other petrochemical products.
